Abstract

In this paper three examples of working areas are described in which `concentrated' parking locations for multiple use are or have been implemented. These examples are: (1) the Haarlem town centre; (2) the Utrecht `Trade Fair Centre'; and (3) the Laakhaven working area in The Hague. In the examples it is demonstrated that `concentrated' parking is one possibility forsolving the space and parking problems. Based on the three practical examples, a case is described of an imaginery business area to show the possibilities for `concentrated' parking. `Concentrated' business parking can only be realized, if businesses experience parking problems and are willing to solve these problems in cooperation with each other problems in cooperation with each other and with the municipal authority. The municipal authority should have a stimulating and facilitating role in this context.
