Abstract
Urban goods vehicle traffic constitute an important source of noise. This exploratory study aims to describe, on the basis of existing knowledge, a number of specific characteris- tics of urban goods vehicle traffic, i.e. route choice behaviour of lorry drivers, the socalled multi- drop delivery rounds, traffic management measures taken by municipalities and affecting freight traffic, and finally procedures for evaluating these measures.
