Abstract

This paper describes a general evaluation framework for assessing ATT (Advanced Transport Telematics) applications in freight transport projects. It is based on the experiences of three DRIVE II projects in search of a common evaluation methodology. Given the distinctive characteristics of commercial freight projects, as described in this paper, it turned out that at best a general framework can be given for the assessment of impacts caused by the use of innovative ATT-applications. This framework includes the definition of stakeholders, the functionality of ATT applications, the objectives of the stakeholders, the impacts of the use of ATT and a list of possible indicators to be used.
