General review of personal injury road accidents in Great Britain.

Abstract

Part 1 of this review comprises nine tables which depict 1995 casualty numbers. Table 1a shows the overall casualties, tables 1b-1g concentrate on data for certain types of road user, and by age and sex. Casualty rates per 100 million vehicle kilometres or, in the case of pedestrian casualties and casualties by age, per 100 thousand population are also shown (table 1h). Table 1i presents information on casualties, traffic and casualty rates by road type. Part 2 of this review article comprises statistical tables on the cost of accidents and motor insurance claims.
