Abstract

Part 1 of this review comprises seven tables which depict 1992 casualty numbers. Table 1a shows the overall casualties and these are further disaggregated by age in Table 1f and by road type in Table 1g. Tables 1b-1f concentrate on data for certain types of road user. Casualty rates per 100 million vehicle kilometres or, in the case of pedestrian casualties and casualties by age, per 100 thousand population, are also shown. Part 2 of this review article comprises statistical tables on drinking and driving, and motor insurance claims. More comprehensive information on these two topics is given in the 1989 edition of Road Accidents Great Britain (see IRRD 846337). For the covering abstract of the book see IRRD 859639.
