Abstract
This Transportation Research Record contains 20 papers on the topic of the geology and properties of earth materials. The papers are presented in five parts. The papers in Part 1 are concerned with quality assurance tests and performance prediction models for aggregates. Part 2 papers cover soil parameters for pavement design and subgrade resilient modulus. The papers in Part 3 address low-volume roads, including their pavement management and climatic and seasonal effects. Part 4 papers address fiber-optic sensors and three-dimensional data applications in transportation. Part 5 papers address containment measures for slope hazards.
