TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2170 includes 13 papers that explore data quality assessments for manual pavement condition surveys, success factors of fish passageways, life-cycle assessment of pavement reconstruction options, detecting voids under pavements, model for resilient response of soils resulting from seasonal changes, effect of climate in mechanistic-empirical pavement design predictions, and maintenance strategies to mitigate bridge end damage from water intrusion. This issue of the TRR also examines genetic algorithm and curve-shifting methodology for predicting subgrade resilient modulus, storm water runoff sediment control devices performance evaluation, effect of nondurable material on embankment settlement, repair of highway embankment failure with tire-derived aggregate, expanded polystyrene block geofoam in slope stabilization and repair, and laboratory measurement of diffusion coefficients for unsaturated soil drying and wetting.
