Abstract

The rapid growth in the development and use of geotextiles and related products has led to problems of design and specification for this diverse range of materials and their numerous applications. This situation has been exacerbated by the lack of an adequate range of standard tests. This report is the first of a series which describes the apparatus and procedures for a range of performance design tests. It outlines the background and approach to testing geotextiles and related products and describes the apparatus and test method for performing sustained loading (creep) tests. (A)
