Abstract

The general problem of studying problem- solving processes is discussed. Specific differences were predicted on the basis of protocols of subjects doing the same task thinking aloud. In this case all hypotheses were confirmed, confirming also our thesis on the place of programmed instruction in the study of complex information-processing activities.
