Abstract

Pedestrians who want to cross the road have to wait for a gap in traffic or to make use of pedestrian crossings controlled or not by traffic signals. Often controlled crossings are depended of the traffic density. A new kind of partly controlled pedestrian crossing in Hilversum is described. The system has much similarities with the Pelican-crossing.
