Abstract
This article starts with the legal aspects of lighting. Who is responsible for street lighting, and what must be illuminated? As for planning, standard lightings are proposed for six types of roads, taking into account the visibility. The effect of luminous point on pavements is described. As for construction the following aspects are presented: reflection of pavements, influence of light intensity, glare by using full headlights and the visibility of signs and other road users.
