Abstract

The Dutch Railways needs data on the flow of passengers for the development of the RAIL 21 model. Decisions to invest in an infrastructure project depend strongly on the desired transit line services and timetable. The PROLOP assignment and comparison model can show the consequences of modifications in the transit line services for passengers. The PROLOP model is particularly suited for modifications in the transit line services which have consequences on the large scale, as will the RAIL 21 model have.
