Abstract

The visual acuity of road- users appeared to be an important parameter in a recent field study on the amount of information on traffic signs. The correlation between acuity and decision distance was 0.67. At the time of the experiments the contrast sensitivity of the subjects at five spatial- frequencies was also measured, to study the correlation with decision distance. These correlations are elaborated in this report.
