Abstract

There is a growing interest in geographical data processing. Geographical information systems (GIS) can be considered as a tool for spatial questions and physical planning. The first part of the paper gives a short introduction of geographical information systems. The second part of the paper discusses two examples of GIS applications in the transportation field.
