GIS : a modern tool for improved road safety.

Abstract

A total approach of Automated Mapping and Facilities Management (AM /FM) and the Geographic Information System (GIS) is adequate when generating a computer assisted tool for road safety analysis. The possibilities in application and integration of other data bases is practically limitless. The system is used in the HADAR area, in the city of Haifa, as an example.
