Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the kinds and levels of glare emanating form driver's vehicle that fall within his field of view and to relate the effects if such glare to his visual performance. Two separate but complementary approaches were used. First a field study was made of the glare sources found on vehicles during daylight driving conditions. Secondly a study was made in the laboratory if the effect of such glare intensities on vision.
