Abstract

Tests carried out in Glasgow on the co-ordination of traffic signals under conditions of light and very low flow showed that the vehicle-responsive systems tried, offered no advantages in terms of savings in journey time over fixed- time linking. Substantial savings in journey time can be obtained by TRANSYT and SIGOP.
