Abstract

Following the model of previous Transportation Research Board (TRB) conferences, the National Conference on Global Intermodal Freight provided a forum for discussion and information-sharing on issues and developments affecting intermodal freight transportation planning and operations. The goal of this conference was to take a collective look at how far the nation has come and at what remains to be done toward realising the vision set forth in the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 (ISTEA).
