Abstract
An analysis is given of the accident statistics of the first nine months of 1978 in the Netherlands. From data of the number of vehicle miles and the traffic index is shown that the traffic performance during the third quarter of the year has increased as compared with 1977. The number of fatalities increased with 1%, the number of traffic accidents decreased with 1%, just as the number of injured road users.
