Abstract

Of primary concern in this study is the development of a procedure for using the goal-programming technique, a modification and extension of linear programming, to evaluate urban transit systems for meeting the transportation-related goals of a community. A computer program is employed to ease application of the goal programming and allow flexibility for a complex set of equations.
