Abstract

A governmental agency charged -with the responsibility for nev drug registration must have the means for assessing both the drug's therapeutic effect and its potential for producing any number of adverse side-effects. This paper discusses what the Dutch society, through its governmental agencies, has done so far. Recommendations for further research and a better registration are discussed.
