Abstract

An algorithm to overcome the problem of insufficient visible satellites in satellite based navigation such as Global Positioning System (GPS) is proposed. It can also be used when user-satellite geometry is not good enough to give user position with sufficient accuracy. The suggested algorithm has new concept named as 'virtual satellite' and 'virtual pseudo-range'. This paper contains the analyses and experimental results comparing the suggested method and the conventional variable fix method.
