Abstract

The purpose of this symposium was to develop mutual respect and understanding among all interest groups of all problems relating to rail-highway grade crossing safety. The symposium was divided in: Panel I: Significance of the rail broad grade crossing problem; Panel II: Vehicle-train conflicts at grade crossings; Panel III: The Texas experience in rail-highway grade crossing studies; Panel IV: Information and enforcement.
