Abstract
The Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) has designed a number of grade separated road interchanges for an urban arterial system, for the Bombay Metropolitan Region. The development of these interchanges in this urban area has been required to improve capacity, conflict and safety, and uniformity of traffic flow. The main features of a number of typical designs are discussed. This paper was also published in Highway Research Bulletin No 37 of the Indian Roads Congress.
