Abstract

A technique has been developed for relating brake system performance on a variety of test surfaces with the high friction coefficient stopping distance requirements as specified by the U.S. Department of Transportation. This paper presents a sample graph and describes graph deriviation and use as well as the measurement of test surface friction characteristics.
