Abstract

This research is based on a cross-sectional and longitudinal analysis of development at every interchange in Alabama for 1964-1970. Most of the developments occurred within 3 year of the opening of the interchange to traffic and 80% of the development was highway oriented, primarily gasoline service stations. Efforts to indentify variable closely associated with the land use development process were moderately successful.
