Abstract
Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority (GMPTA) is responsible for overseeing the provision of public transport in the county. It is made up of 33 councillors from the ten councils in Greater Manchester. Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) implements the Authority's policies. This article describes a proposed improvement package which will be undertaken if a successful bid to the Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) is made, and details the current developments in transport including: trams, buses, quality bus corridors, yellow school buses, the metroshuttle, and CCTV.
