Abstract
Using waiting red by the traffic engineer is limited. Some of them don't use waiting red on principle. Yet, at some intersections there has been an experience over six years. Waiting red has some specific advantages but also specific disadvantages. Practice showed, good results can be reached both on traffic safety and traffic flow.
