Abstract

During the last twenty years about 230 kilometre of noise barriers are constructed along the Dutch main highways. Half of them are earth walls, and the others are from different constructions. About fifteen percent are from the so-called green noise-limiting barrier construction. These constructions are mostly narrow by which the vegetation plays an important role. Because the construction and maintenance of such noise barriers need much attention and guidance, the existing experiences are collected and evaluated in this report.
