Abstract

Results are presented in graphical form of recommended spacing of lighting columns, related to total road width between kerbs, for mounting heights of 12 and 18 metres with cut off type lanterns. Four alternative lighting layouts are considered. The advantages and disadvantages of centre reservation lighting are briefly discussed with the conclusion that this system has proven to be the most economical.
