Abstract

Oregon's Department of Transportation (ODOT), USA, has launched the TripCheck Traveler Information Portal (TTIP), an enhancement of its TripCheck travel information service. An extensive network of people and travel operators input data on travel conditions to the system. The system allows ODOT's partner agencies to access each other's data across the Transport Network. The TransPort group includes the Metropolitan Planning Organisation and TriMet (the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon). Travellers will be able to access data about congestion including those related to construction activities in Portland. TriMet will send bus probe-derived traffic data to TTIP and use TTIP incident data in its own bus dispatch system. ODOT hopes that multi-agency TTIP data will support transportation modelling, particularly in Portland.
