Abstract

The ends of longitudinal traffic barriers have been a design problem for a number of years. Many different variations of ends have been used with varying degrees of success. This paper describes recent testing of two barrier end treatments with impacts that included off-centre Endon impacts with 1800-lb mini-sized cars. Test results ranged from unsatisfactory to near compliance with the current evaluation criteria.
