Abstract

Automatic bus guidance offers an additional alternative technology for organisations considering options for the development of rapid transit systems. Application of this new system in Adelaide arose from careful consideration of the features of the technology in relation to more conventional modes. Bus guidance adds to the economic and flexibility advantages of bus transit by providing levels of safety, speed and comfort more commonly associated with rail systems.
