Abstract

This research has reviewed the various techniques and procedures in use to measure traffic characteristics at typical intersections, thereby developing a rational approach as a guideline for inclusion of a left-turn lane. The procedure is based on relating the road-user benefits to the cost of providing the added turning lane.
