Abstract

Stormwater runoff from roads has the potential to impact aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems through changes to water quality, water quantity and water flowpath. It is important to manage stormwater to reduce such pressures on sensitive receiving environments. This guideline has been developed to assist practitioners with the selection and design of road runoff treatment measures, hydrologic design standards and design computations for selected treatment measures. The guideline contains a series of worked examples to present the range of stormwater treatment measures suitable for use in road construction. (Author/publisher)
