Abstract

Details are given of a new traffic surveillance system developed in Japan. Pictures of speeding cars are taken by high resolution tv cameras. These pictures are transmitted to a central system by optical fibre lines and filed onto an optical disk. They are then displaced on a high resolution monitor television. Pulse doppler radar is used for speed detection.
