Abstract
Durinh the years 1977-79 an investigation was made tocreate a through traffic free zone in the semi-tentralresidential area Lundby in Mj÷lby. This entailed imposinga number of street closures in order to stop throubh traf-fic. The desired effects veere achieved by these measures.The number of rond accidents decreased, as did the speedof motor vehicles. An attitude study showed that themajority of the residents erere negativa to the irnpler2entedmeasures. As a result of this most of the streets veerert:opened for through traffic when the test period had endel.
