Abstract
Follow-up studies of vehicle speeds have been carried out over a period of 10 years. The measurements have been made on straight and level rural road sections. During 1989 measurements were carried out at 56 points on 1 to 7 occasions at each point. Compared with 1988, the speed of cars has decreased duing 1989. A special investigation was made on roads with a 110 km/h speed limit when they were changed to a 90 km/h speed limit. On two-lane roads, the speed of cars was reduced by about 11 km/h and on motorways by about 14,5 km/h. (A) The 1988 measurements are abstracted in VTI Meddelande 617 (see C 5741).
