Abstract

In part I the capabilities of five types of headlight testing equipment were compared (Newham; Lucas; Cibië; Weaver; and Kent-mode) and it was concluded that none of the testers examined was entirely satisfactory as a standard piece of equipment for setting and checking the aim and intensity of headlight beams. In part II an improved beam tester was discussed (a modified Lucas beam tester with floor jig.).
