Abstract

The floor panel temperature of vehicles conforming to the emission control standards is increased because of heat conducted from the exhaust pipe system to the panel. A model test equipment was developed and the heat resistance temperature for various type of floor coverings was measured. A target floor panel temperature is established at which normal floor covering conditions can be maintained.
