Abstract

The case records of 303 consecutive patients with proved liver injuries seen in the five-year period 1961-1966, are reviewed. Automobile accidents caused 34 of the 41 blunt liver injuries. Fractures were found in 9 of the 11 pedestrians, while lacerations were more common in drivers and passengers.
