Abstract

Repeated victimization has for a long time remained a blank space on the criminological map. The bulk of research into repeat victimization has been done in Great-Britain. In The Netherlands there is as yet no systematic attention for the phenomenon. The figures that emerge from foreign research certainly justify a closer look at the subject. This was sufficient ground for the Department of Prevention, Youth Prevention & Probation to review the literature on the subject and commissioned a secondary analysis of the Police Monitor (Politiemonitor Bevolking).
