Abstract

The length of after- transport is decisive in selecting public transport as mode of transport. The shorter the distance between stations and places of work, the more people will be prepared to leave their cars at home. The principle of the location policy for working areas and facilities is that certain activities can be assigned to certain locations on the basis of three accessibility profiles. Activities with a high number of workers and visitors are eligible to be located in city centres in the direct proximity of the central station.
