Abstract

This article evaluates the made-to-measure car seats of Scheel with the standard car seats on many ergonomic features. In total sixty subjects were asked to fill out two questionnaires, first evaluating the standard seat and secondly - after six weeks of driving experience - evaluating the car seat which is made to measure. Statistics show that the seats which are made to measure are significantly superior to the standard seats in all ergonomic aspects: the made-to-measure seats were perceived to be more comfortable by the respondents than the standard seats, clients has less (back)problems and were able to drive for a longer period without (severe) backproblems than in the standard car seat.
