Abstract

Car usage has been largely dependent on the height of the out-of-pocket costs. The more fixed costs like road tax are being converted into variable costs by putting up the duty on fuel, for instance, the more people will be able to compare the costs of public transport rides to those of car trips. It is quite well possible that energy consumption may be reduced by more than 10%.
