Abstract
When a car collides with an obstacle, the exerted power becomes important in connection with the change of eventual hurt of the occupants of the car. It has been tried to find a method to ascertain as good as possible the acceleration from the measured positions of a vehicle. The considered differential techniques are: the least squares, exponential smoothing, numerical differentiation, and approximating numerical differentiating filters.
