Abstract

Dealing with trips with several potential routes routechoice factors play a fundamental role in the design of origin-destination matrices using indomplete information, notably traffic counts. In this paper an adaptation of the method of information minimization is given that explicitely deals with the aspect of route choice. On the basis of some examples the use of route information in the design of origin-destination matrices is emphasized.
