Abstract

Dealing with trips with several potential routes routechoice factors play a fundamental role in the design of o.d.-matrices using incomplete information, notably traffic counts. In the paper an adaptation of the method of information minimization is given that explicity deals with the aspect of route choice. Moreover, attention is paid to the problems of dependence of observations. On the basis of some examples the use of route information in the design of o.d.-matrices is emphasized.
