Abstract
The number plate information system is considered as a cheap and quick way for data acquisition in parking survey etc. The system can be used for traffic and parking surveys, for measurement of journey times and for visual traffic counts. The system can be applied as an instrument for the police by which a saving of man power, an increased chance for detection and a higher number of parking fines can be obtained.
