Abstract

Empirical derivation of a formula describing the shape of the path which is most comfortable to a cyclist while negotiating a square turning at a given speed. Experiments with video recording were carried out on six categories of cyclists, viz. male/female, age and type of bicycle. An equation was derived for 84% of the curves observed.
